A bespoke commission for a private residence in the recently launched Bayview Apartments, Guangzhou.
The sculpture carefully balances the suspension of large cast low-iron glass panels with merging sections of sublime white Italian alabaster. Each glass panel is cast with a unique texture that captures the movement of water, as a nod to the River Pearl flowing just outside, and is gilded with champagne gold leaf to produce an abstract representation of the local waterways. The structural elements and lighting are concealed within the brass framework which support the sections from below and provide flexibility to lower sections as and when required for access to the ceiling above.
